Dagger Dance

The San Batavia Republic patrols its borders and keeps its ideals. It also cuts budgets, tolerates piracy in the outer regions, and tells itself the situation is manageable. It isn't. Green Squadron are reservists — civilian pilots pulled from their ordinary lives and placed aboard a front-line carrier where nobody wants them. Misfits sent to inflate the numbers. Their commander is a decorated ace with Ghosts following her: the fighter group she led into a battle that went wrong. The enemy shouldn't be this capable. Pirates don't fight like this. Something is coming. And the people least expected to stop it may have no choice but to try.
